2021 GALLERY OF POLISH DESIGN COLLAGE CALENDAR

2021 - GALLERY OF POLISH DESIGN CALENDAR

This is a calendar I made for a school project. The goal was to design half a calendar with 6 digital collages consisting of known polish designs, to promote The Gallery of Polish design in the National Museum in Warsaw. My Inspiration for those illustrations were the glass works of a polish designer Zbigniew Horbowy.
Three first months of my calendar. Each month got the info about the main glass object that is depicted on the illustration above. Holidays are marked red. The whole calendar was made in 4 languages: English, Polish, Italian and Swedish.
I made six digital collages to go with 6 first months of the year. Each one of them is mainly focused on a different glass object. I tried to find a vintage feel for each one of them for collage elements to go with. My goal was to make collages that set the mood to the retro "PRL" times of 60's and 70's Poland.

The numbers on the cover are supposed to imitate colourful textures of mr Horbowy's Glass Works.
Zbigniew Horbowy (28 October 1935 in Łanczyn – 17 June 2019 in Polanica-Zdrój) was a Polish artist working in industrial design, both artistic and applied glassmaking, professor in the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass and rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. He was an influential Polish designer of utility glass and created his own design school.
