One of the joys of this ad was playing around with traditional Brazilian costumes and the possible transitions between them. This video reveals all the things you can get away with in stop motion that the viewers don't necessarily see at full speed. I still chuckle to myself seeing the bizarre frames we created for this transition.

This was all shot entirely on the iPhone with no post-production. Each mask for these transition was printed and cut. And my job was to cleverly position them to make it appear like mitosis.

Carnival is a place for experimentation and this ad is full of it. In this clip, there is a man dressed as a woman kissing a woman dressed as a man. Notice the lipstick marking that appear after the kiss. 

I had fun playing with the basic principle 'squash and stretch' in with the costumes and poses.
