Static Paradise 'Ebony' / 'Nightshift'

Earlier this year Counter Culture records approached me to produce the artwork for two new singles from Static Paradise. Having seen my 3D work in my 3D Illustrative work in my 'Unfamiliar Space' series they were looking for similarly abstract architectural imagery. With the single 'Ebony' it was requested that the work have a slightly retro, icy, solarised look, while with 'NIGHTSHIFT' I worked with fellow digital artist and long-time collaborator @synthetic.trash, utilising his excellent comp skills to expand the retro architectural style including a vintage Vektor W8 sports car at the artists request, in reference to retro movie posters..

"After trying to find an artist that had the same abstract vision/ feel of our music, finding James and his unique glitch art style perfectly complimented our musical aesthetic. After creating the artwork for our first single ‘Ebony’, we knew he would be a frequent collaborator that had a unique, nostalgic vision that worked well with ours. With our most frequent single night shift, he collaborated with digital artist @synthetic.trash. What they produced for the single was an incredible neon visual, similar to something you’d find in a movie theatre in the 80s, promoting a feature similar to night rider. This came about after frequent communication and ideas that led to James working efficiently to create what our idea for the single was. After a very small amount of time the idea was fully fleshed out and ready for release, perfectly complimenting the new single. I would recommend James to anyone who would like to work with an artist who you can communicate ideas to and who can flesh those ideas into a unique, versatile piece of art in a short amount of time."
