Typeface Design & Social Cause
Student Work
In Typography, we designed a typeface. When that was completed, the typeface was to be used in a poster promoting a social cause or passion. I chose autism because it is has directly impacted my family, my 19 year old cousin was diagnosed when she was 3 years old. I used the dots from the typeface in the background to symbolize children, one of every 110 dots are orange symbolizing the statistic.
While a poster is very large, we also had to design something very small with our typeface. I branded a hypothetical bakery named, "Bits n Bites" because I thought the name was fitting with the typeface. I paired the tagline, "Love every bit of every bite." I made a napkin ring that folds around to make a heart and a sticker for packaged cookies.
