Illusion of Movement

Some of life’s most personal moments are inscribed in the world of objects: faded childhood photographs, rips in a Victorian doll’s clothes, or the beads of a flapper dress from the 20s increasingly evoke in us twinges of nostalgia. We awaken objects from their dreams and give them new lives and memories which will live even after our own deaths, as we pass these precious items from hand to hand, generation to generation, adding to their immortality. We feel nostalgia for times we never knew, as if in order to move forward, we must first go backward. We all live with the illusion of movement.
