Children's water vehicle

This was a design I made for the Bachelor's course "Ontwerpen 2" (Designing 2). I wanted to create a water vehicle for children, which would be a challenge to control. My primary objective was to give the children a form of entertainment, but also keep them busy in an educational manner.

The unique steering system is designed to stimulate the mind. Because of the way it steers, the boat can behave very unpredictable. The white bottom "donut" has bumps on the bottom which causes friction in the water. So when you rotate the top half, where the propulsion system is attached to, you change direction. This steering system together with the unpredictability of the water involves correcting and predicting the movements of the vehicle, creating a challenging learning experience.
