The purpose of this zine series, is to highlight the issue of culture shock and reverse culture shock, that many immigrants are experiencing.The content of the zines has been gathered through a series of interviews conducted on www.quora.com. Quora is question-and-answer website where questions are asked,answered and followed. It is also a place where users are able to gain and share their knowledge. All of the content of the zines are written by users of
the website.
Reverse culture shock is the emotional and psychological distress that some travellers experience once they return home. It can be similar to the culture shock people experience when travelling to other countries, but it can also be much more challenging. This is because it’s an experience that can make your surroundings back home — which previously felt familiar — seem quite different. The zine collection is divided into four separate zine. Each zine is named after the four stages of reverse culture shock: Honeymoon, Negotiation, Adjustment and Adaptation. The series of zines are printed on newsprint 55gsm improved paper.
