The machine is part of a greater project to develop the process of turning waste HDPE/LDPE into a usable material. HDPE and LDPE both have a very low melting point of 130°C and 100°C respectively. This means that they can easily be melted and formed into usable material. To maximise the structural integrity and density of the material it is required to shred it down into thin straw like strands.
