Datamex hourregistration and planning application

Hourregistration & Planning
As part of my graduation process I had to do a final internship. I was able to work with the awesome people at Datamex, a company in Holland. I got to design and create an application that was an improvement on two separate applications they now use to registrate hours they worked and plan future appointments.

At first I was supposed to do the design and front-end work, but I ended up to do most of the back-end too.
Usability
My main focus was on improving the usability so I collected every user need I could get and translated it in a functional design. I tried different approaches to registrating hours. For example, I tried to introduce a sort of timer with which employees could just press a button when they start a (new) activity. I concluded that the standard way of filling in a form worked best for this audience. So instead I tested all kind of variations in order of the forms to see what worked best.
Responsive
The most important condition stated the application had to be usable on tablets and mobile devices. It was a great opportunity to test my responsive design abilities.
