This is a rework I did of two illustrations from about 4 years ago. At that time, my intent with that body of work was heavily influenced by "Horror Vacui". I wanted to make really abrasive heavy illustrations as kind of a reflection of my brain and of my feelings at the time. After my show, “Errorsapien”, I decided it was time to take a break from that style and focus on different types of work (even tho it still sneaks up on me sometimes ha). I usually work in batches with a single theme so I don’t subconsciously repeat myself. 

       As an exercise, I recently decided to rework two of those images so they would be more accesible (visually, not content wise). I did this by bringing the main figures forward, separating shapes from the background and surrounding objects, and erasing unnecessary elements. I avoided changing color as much as possible or doing any kind of heavy rework as I wanted to keep the “spirit” of the originals.  It made me look at my old work through an new lens and also it was really fun. 4 years in between
