Social Issue Posters

The goal of this project was to create a trio of posters that focus on a social issue in today's society. I chose to represent Body Dysmorphia Disorder.

BDD causes devastating distress and interferes substantially with the ability to function socially. This is something that I wanted to portray in my posters. This whole disorder is really about looking in the mirror and not seeing what you truly look like.

With this in mind, I chose to go with the concept of a cracked mirror. This disorder is something that is all about visuals, so I wanted to try and replicate that feeling in my designs. I did this by having the viewer focus on one main photograph. I want it to feel as though the viewer is looking through broken glass. I also chose a different slogan for each poster to really help the viewer understand this idea of the cracked mirror and what it feels like to have BDD.
