Foundation Year, Second Semester Design Studio: Asked to make a zine about any topic. 

For my zine, 'As I Lie Here', I illustrated and designed my zine with graphite and photoshop. The subject is about my time of introspection and examining my thoughts, and how they can be intrusive, emotional, obsessive, and crowding. However, it is only through a time of meditation that one can acknowledge the crowding of their mind and begin to reach an "equilibrium." I wanted to use fluid/emotive/humanistic forms with the graphite to express emotion and how our bodies are grounded in nature, juxtaposed with digital/structural/anatomical forms to show the very structural reality of our human physiology. I wanted to explore what the relationship between these two concepts were. The body being tangible/structural, and the mind being fluid and metaphysical. Furthermore, I wanted the illustrations to embody what my inner thoughts look like.
