Inspired from the urban environment, the use of textiles in production of monuments is rare. Currently environment has been changing and adapting itself to a tempo that best suits the human living conditions. For architecture, its traditional form cannot change massively, therefore adapting itself to the immediate social mayhems of human aesthetic needs. Taking this thought forward, presented are the handwoven set of thematic weave designs as prototypes for a monumental piece of fabric.  The weaves represent their qualities through structure, form, texture, and composition. Materials like wood, nylon, plastic, wool, cotton and fish wire have been explored. The fabric piece has been designed to define an architectural space remembering rich cultural heritage or historical importance. The implications of the geometric patterns have been influenced by the Bauhaus movement. The technique of weaving a double sided cloth is used with fish wire and cotton incorporating as the warp resulting in a stiff and a thick fabric piece.
DOUBLE CLOTH EXPLORATIONS

This series of woven fabrics have been inspired by the works of the editor Richard Schutte. His works are known under the brand name "Carlucci Di Chivasso". His collection is based around three inspirational pillars : Geometric Design, Asian Influences and Italian Fashion. Inspired from his work, I've looked upon the modern architecture and the Art Deco period for striking geometric patterns with contrasting colours.
