The Hard Working Type

A typographic treatment created using the sweat off my back, literally. Made by making myself undergo various kinds of workout / exercise regiments - each result was unique.

I experimented with different kinds of t-shirts / materials and typefaces, to see the various effects that were possible. I also tried creating the letters in the negative and positive. The results of my first few experiments are posted below:

- '99 %'

- '&'

- '397 KCAL'

- Letter 'A'

- Nike Plus symbol

- Letters 'S'

Note: There was NO USE OF PHOTOSHOP in the creation of this treatment. Each letter / number was formed naturally.
99 % - Created by running rounds in Central Park, NY

The process video was possible by shooting it with Google Glass
... and 1 % inspiration
The formation
Concept for Poster
& - Created using the P90x home work out
Concept for Book Cover
397 Kcal - Created by running continuously, on a treadmill at the gym, till the machine displayed the goal of burning 397 calories (two pizza slices)
Advertising Concept for a gym / sports brand

The campaign would involve creating a different typographic calorie count for each kind of food. The message being that a person needs to maintain a healthy lifestyle if they enjoy eating out / different foods and work out accordingly.
Letter A - Made by lifting weights
Nike Plus - Created by running along the promenade on the UES
Letter S - Created by doing aerobics
The real trick would be to create type with the exercise regime shown below!!
Amazing!!
Thank you for watching !!
