Brief: I was approached by First Photographics to create a new webpage, email template and an animation to inform the public on their new health and safety procedures to stop the spread of Coronavirus. First Photographics photograph properties for sale and rent, therefore they need to ensure that their photographers and clients are kept safe.
My Process: Health and safety and the current situation with Covid-19 is very serious, however I didn’t want the website or animation to be too depressing. I created quirky hand drawn icons that were used to represent each new safety procedure. These icons were used on the new webpage and email template as well as within the animation. The email template was used to inform the of their photographic appointment and contained information on the new health and safety procedures.
As well as creating the new safety procedures webpage, I also re-designed the “How to prepare your home” webpage to match in with the rest of the website.
Animation:
For the animation I wanted to display a house and use each room to inform the public of what needs to be done before the photographer can enter the property. I used a magnifying glass to focus on each step of the safety procedures which moved around the house. I then used each element of the First Photographics logo to show what measures the photographer will be taking to keep them and the customers safe. The animation contained a voice over for the health and safety information, I felt that this would work better as people would be more likely to listen to the video rather than read long amounts of text.
I also created a poster to be displayed in the studio that informed customers that a face covering must be worn before entering. This poster was created using the same drawings in the First Photographic colours.
