Triomf Der Metalen Mensen - Album Art

"TRIOMF DER METALEN MENSEN" is a vintage, brutalist rendition/concept of Valium Aggelein's slow-core/post-rock record 'Hier Kommt Der Schwartze Mond' from 1998, which has been reissued in 2020 via Numero Group under the name "The Black Moon".
With the nihilist and emotional sounds and textures, including a handful of mumbled words through-out the 38 minute record, Numero Group even refer to the album as "skeletal space music for the Prozac generation". I wanted to reflect those words and audible elements through a collage of a skyline of humans, human buildings. A concerning sight and a distorted reality.

What was once supposed to be a promising future for all of us, due to technological advancements, scientific breakthroughs and hopes for utilitarian policies has slowly turned into a dystopian daydream.
Aestheticly, I tried to aim for a mix between the nostalgia of the past, and the dystopia of future. The first being the straight-forward, tight sans serif typography inspired by vintage vinyl cover lay-outs, and the latter being the main image: a distorted, hyper-modern, disturbing vision of future society.
