Galaxy: ( 16x20 in )
I desired to reflect the beauty of space with this series. This is my most recent acrylic painting. I struggled with the brushwork on the blue gas planet. I wanted it to be smooth and slightly striped similar to Saturn or Jupiter. Unfortunately, my acrylic paint is thick and dries quickly, and using gentle amounts water makes it rub off. So, I tried to improvise by adding some cumulus texture. One of the goals of this was to add multiple different colors coherently. I’m most proud of the nebula. I detailed the cloud like texture and the transition of colors. I also enjoyed transitioning the purple to a complimentary orange by using red.

Terrestrial painting: ( 11x14 in )
This is loosely inspired by images of Pluto. It has similar diagonal movement as my other space painting but pointing the other direction. I personally prefer the more detailed brushwork and color scheme of this terrestrial planet despite most people preferring the grandness and vivid colors of the other painting.
