New Notebooks Exhibition
Can sketchbooks be considered as a tool as well as a purpose for production practices included in design disciplines? At which point of the visual production practices that continue from the sketch to the delivery, the designer is considered to have started to make a “bill”? Is the designer's sketchbook keeping habit a witness to the design process as a subjective diary? Can notebooks full of handwritten texts, drawings be considered as a planned design object?
This series of questions constitutes the research and query framework of the project realized by the students of Graphic Design Department within the interdisciplinary design course. Within the scope of the project, the 'notebook' medium, which was chosen as the intersection of graphic design discipline and artistic narrative forms, was designed as a new plane for students to reflect their accumulation based on both art and design education and to try out visualization techniques that they are not used to from their comfortable areas. In this process, the sharing of the artist Cenkhan Aksoy's own experiences and productions with the students also creates value in terms of providing an experience other than the design dynamics of the project.
The notebooks that Aksoy defined as a medium for various narratives within the scope of his own art practices suggest the discourse of “artist book” as a new alternative to the concept of “artist book”. The idea sketching phase of the project, which was realized with the consultancy of the artist, focused on the original approaches that addressed the notebook object as a tool of personal, professional and cultural testimonies. The notebooks, which had to be produced as unique products without analog tools, only with analog and manual manipulations and as opposed to the replication practices of graphic design, were designed in a "paper stack" simplicity with a story to tell between the two covers.

COLOR OF HARMONY
This book design; Based on 808 bass sounds that reflect the rap music in the hiphop culture that I am in and which is in the background of this music, it was created specially for every day and song for seven days with my favorite music tracks. In order to reflect this, the graffiti art used in the culture was used and I applied the effect of the sounds by spraying the strokes of the bass sounds in the infrastructure of the music with the spray paint and experimentally by printing on the paper. The cover and each work I thought in a square form, almost like a record cover, and used it in a carrier position. In general, since the hiphop culture is a colorful and rich culture, the title of the book is set as "Colors Of Harmony".
