Gillender Street

I started working at Fleetwood Architectural Aluminium in April 2019. I quickly learnt their systems due to my previous experience at IQ Glass. After carrying out some small jobs, I was given the opportunity to be the lead designer on Gillender Street which consists of 600 windows, 300 patio sliders and some curtain walling.

At the sales team will be liasing with the client and agreeing the systems to be used and performance requirements to be met such as U values, solar values and acoustics.

RBA carried out an acoustic report on site and due to the heavy traffic nearby. The acoustic requirements vary depending on the level and orientation of the window or door system.

RBA proposed 6 glass specs, however I suggested reducing this and grouping them to minimise the variation in bead and wedge gasket. This meant over compensating some of the glass specs.
