Take a handful of scientists, put them in one of the most driest places in the world and have them run a pathogen-lab, weird things happen. Thanks to it’s environmental dangers, these laboratories were kept off-limits for unauthorized visitors. Most of the experiments were harmless. Trouble started when they set out to modify certain pathogens. Crewmembers got infected when they came into contact with these new spores. The government aborted the experiment and sold most of the compounds to a large defense contractor.
