CICU Visitor Center 2008     Situated in Mexico City’s historical UNAM campus, the CICU Visitor Center is one of only seven other modern architectural projects chosen to become a World Heritage Site.  Directly adjacent to the School of Architecture, the building previously used as the campus art gallery was to be retrofitted to become the respective Visitor Center where information about the campus’s rich history could be obtained.

Responding to the surrounding Corbusien architectural language, this site had the challenges of engaging the iconic Biblioteca and Rectoria buildings without detracting from them and simultaneously tipping its hat to the past while looking to the future.
