The inspiration decayed has been influenced by the two inter-related Japanese
aesthetics ‘Wabi-Sabi’ and ‘Kintsugi’. Wabi- Sabi is interpreted as acceptance of
transience and imperfection of life and accepting peacefully the natural cycle of
ageing and decaying.
Kintsugi is an art, of repairing broken pottery with real gold and the mended
pottery becomes even stronger than original. The flaws and cracks are accentuated
and celebrated because they become the strongest part of pottery.
The artworks have been inspired from these organic forms of gold filled in the
cracks developed using Flock printing ,foil printing gold and black leather
sequins on 100% organic fabrics like milk crepe and corn stripes. The color story
deals in muted tones of ebony and ivory accentuated with polished coal and
molten gold tones.
The silhouettes have been derived by using addition of volume to make
silhouettes drapey and easy going.
The USP of this Luxury Prèt collection for Spring/Summer 2017 is the main
elements of the garments will fit most of the sizes.
