This was my final major project at university. I researched the needs of vulnerable women escaping a violent relationship and I set my self the challenging task of designing a centre where these women could go, providing them with a roof over their head and a sense of security, as well as independence. It would also give them a way forward by providing them with employment and skills with in the restaurant industry.  The women will be able to provide emotional support for each other, as all of them will have experienced similar situations. The centre will be home to a restaurant, which would be staffed by these women. This will be a training venue and will provide the women with a variety of skills necessary for working in environments outside of the complex. This will also help the women to regain their independence by providing them with a regular income, so they do not have to rely on the government.
