When Rabbit Stole Otter's Pelt

After viewing the artist Amose's beautiful work, I was inspired to try my own hand.

Since I've always been interested in bringing a new, more contemporary edge to my Cherokee heiritage, I felt one of our stories to be the best subject. Having a soft spot for our trickster, The Rabbit, I chose the story where he steals Otter's pelt in order to win a contest about who had the most beautiful fur. In the end the other animals saw through his deception and when he tries to escape his once long, beautiful tail is grabbed and ruined forever.

This piece won first place in the 15th Annual NSU Student Juried Art Show in the Digital Media category.
Thanks for watching!
