The Sony Tablet Support website is a piece of an overall eSupport re-launch with new features. The main site was done in Perl by a team in another office. My team was tasked with doing a website for the new Sony Tablet product that launched in September 2011.
Using jQuery, I was able to enhance the user experience and visual experience (eye candy) of the website.
Content for the website is provided by the main eSupport team via a set of MySQL server stored procedures. Initially wired to receive the data sets through Entity Framework, a switch was made to use ODBC so the connection strings in the configuration file could be encrypted for security. Calls to the stored procedures include values for product ID, language and region to produce content specific to the user's needs.
