Risograph commission work/ freedom square in Bratislava

Risograph commission work
A new riso print I cooperated with Cierne diery.
The graphic is Námestie slobody (freedom square) which was called Gottko too because of a statue of the old Bratislava mayor. Many demos and political events used to happen there and it has been left without reconstruction for a long time due to lack of budget.
In this year, reconstruction was finally completed. Architects aimed to make it more for citizen's relax. The design of the fountain remained the same but the purpose was more for children's enjoyment and it has the function of changing the water amount for ecological purposes. They keep using old left materials and create barrier free streets, more green areas.
In the end, it is well known as a great restoration project.
In the graphic, I put old tools like yellow benches, old design lights, a Stalling stone statue, and a greenery hill. But for the whole atmosphere I referred to the current lively mood I felt when I visited there because I respected and I could see what architects wanted to do for the restoration.
There are unique matters too like a current Bratislava major on the right corner, some Japanese creatures related to water, Czech folk monsters and a white pigeon in the sky. Also on the day I finished making the illustration, our dog in Prague passed away so I put her in the graphic hoping for her freedom in the next world and she has been the square.
