persuasive poster ideas

This week we had to create persuasive posters that relate to an environmental cause of choice. I chose global warming.

The mediums i used to create the initial 3 idea posters were charcoal, and a variety of led pencils.

The first concept was displaying a evil hand piercing the earth with oil/blood emerging from the earth. the hand also is coming out of a cloud of pollution, with the foreground of the piece being a polluted city with the largest structures being industrial plants. This piece aims to highlight "man" (mankind) depriving the earth of its natural resources and playing god in a way however a very carless evil god. this piece is eye-catching and is clearly represents the message being portrayed. I dint not add text as i did not know what to put.

The second image is the earth in a soup being boiled with the steam/smoke emerging saying help. in the fire there is a hand shaped flame giving a rock star symbol to portray humas not caring and continuing to add fuel to the fire. I liked this a lot however it as not as obvious. The soup earth also was not as unique as I wanted, however I was still proud of the illustration.

The last poster concept is my favorite. I combined the element of the rockstar hand from image 2 and also used the same pose that I used for a piece all the way back in week 1 for the negative space task. this piece depicts a human levitating trying to leave the burning earth however they are chained down and cannot escape there fate as it is to late. With humans being reckless and exploring space exploration rather than trying to preserve and look after the planet we share they are trying to leave the problem rather than solve it. I however believe that before humans have the chance to expand to other planets it will be to late, thus the chain representing that we are chained to earth. The figure levitating is also turning into ash due to the heat, this displays how we are destroying life and will end up with a planet that is unlivable. I also put the words chained to a burning plant to emphasize my view.
