A booklet for citizens by citizens of Kamijima, Setouchi, Japan
瀬戸内 上島町総合戦略本
瀬戸内にある25の離島が集まって一つの町となった世界でも珍しい形態の上島町。世界の美しい村協会にも登録されています。その町民が島の未来を考えるための総合戦略本の絵を描きました。5つのグループに分かれて行われた、それぞれのトピックに関しての意見交換ワークショップがベースとなっています。前半部分が絵本パート、後半がデータとワークショップの内容となった町民による町民のための島の未来を考える本です。
制作にあたって実際島に１週間滞在し、インタビューをしたり島の暮らしを拝見してきました、絵本パートは私が見たもの、体験したものを元に絵の内容も考えて提案しています。各ページに隠れキャラも。
Kamijimacho is made of 25 islands located on the Seto-inland sea. The book is about thinking of the future of islands. The first part is a children's book then the following is based on discussion by citizens of 5 groups in each topic and data.
For this project I stayed in Yuge-island for a week then interviewed local workers, observing local life. The Childeren's book part is based on what I see and experienced. There is also a hidden character on each spread page.
