THIS WAS PART OF THE BRANDING PROPOSAL FOR WHAT USED TO BE THE SOUTHERN SUN IN SANDTON. WE HAD TO PROPOSE A NEW NAME, BRANDING AND POSITIONING ALIGNED WITH SUN INTERNATIONAL'S PLAN TO POSITION THEIR NEW ACQUISITION AS THE PREMIER BUSINESS HOTEL IN SANDTON. IN THE END, THEY WENT WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPOSAL - THE MASLOW.
4) DStv EXPERIENTIAL PODS & STORE WITHIN A STORE DESIGN
EXPERIENTIAL 4D SOUND PODS, THAT MERGE AND FORM PART OF A LARGER VIEWING PODS THAT SHOWCASES DSTV HD. THE PODS ARE ALSO MEANT TO BE MODULAR - TO ALLOW FOR MULTIPLES TO BE STACKED/ARRANGED TOGETHER. THE DESIGN OF THE PODS ALSO INFLUENCED A FURTHER DEVELOPMENT, WHICH WAS A "STORE-IN-STORE" CONCEPT DESIGNED FOR DSTV TO HAVE A PERMANENT "HALO" PRESENCE IN RETAILERS LIKE MAKRO AND GAME.

After winning the pitch to do the first ever SAMRO Music Awards - Wawela. The client asked us to look at a re-brand for the organisation. As SAMRO services musicians all over Africa, from diverse backgrounds and cultures we made "Africa" the icon, and heavily stylised it, to suit this application. It's broken up into 5 specific coloured shapes, that make up the African continent, but also represent the 5 different roles that SAMRO fulfills for it's database of musicians. We wanted to bring a sophisticated "street" egde to the brand, as they are essentially a government organisation, that needed to elivate their perceived value and "cool" factor amongst young, up and coming musicians. (Politics and timing prevented the realisation of the full re-brand.)
