Lookbook design for the creators of the original Mac coat.

Mackintosh dates back to the early 19th century when chemist Charles Mackintosh invented a new method of waterproofing cotton. This development led to the first type of fabric that was completely waterproof, revolutionising both fabric technology and design. By the 1980s Mackintosh became a huge fashion success, also being used by the British army and railway.

Mackintosh approached us to produce a lookbook that was inspiring enough to engage partners while being technically detailed enough to support a range of wholesalers. Aside from reflecting Mackintosh’s striking and sophisticated look and feel, the lookbook needed to be flexible enough to function as a template for future use.

I approached the lookbook design with a modular grid system that allowed technical information to be clear and visually engaging. I embraced Mackintosh’s traditional editorial brand font, Franklin Gothic, to contrast the modern layout and create a balanced look that reflected their contemporary visual identity.
