product design
My designs follow the principles of simplicity, fluidity and excellence in details. While desiging, I place emphasis on modeling the form, as well as creating a rendering of ambient lighting to highlight the subtle qualities. Following is a collection of works I did in August 2013. I used Rhino 4.0, Keyshot 3, and passes for modeling and rendering. Feel free to leave messages!

Isis Lamp
I would like to design a lamp that is both organic and orderly. The exterior contour will be accentuated by high density of vertical planes, while it is more airy horizontally. The bulb I created for keyshot rendering is pointy so that it stands out when viewed in profile. The lamp is named after Isis, the goddess in ancient Greek mythology for its mystical quality. For this design, grasshopper scripts were used to transform the solid form into planes. Those planes were further pocessed in AutoCAD and lasercut to create the wooden prototype. The prototype is completely modular where planes are perfectly fit together without the use of glue.
-
Sicily Chair
I would like to design a chair that emphasizes on its fluidity, and at the same time airy and balanced. The focal point of the design is the shape of the frame when it is viewed on profile; the elegance of which makes the name "Sicily." The choice of materials is based on consideration of simplicity and sleekness -- black or cream leather with steel frame. The chair would go well with any living room and study settings.

The Indulgence Collection
I would like to design a pair of heels that is apt for cocktail parties and formal social functions, with lots of emphasis on fluidity and elegance. The heels are made of leather in red wine color, juxtaposed with sumptuous gold circular ornaments. They will go well with long flowing gowns and silky evening dresses.
-
Ripple Ring
The Ripple Ring features organic ripple motifs, which catches the light and shimmers beautifully. The focal point is the small diamond in the middle of the ring that stands out among the motifs. The design is geared towards simplicity and elegance, where nothing will be exaggerated. I employed a variety of surface tools and "flow along surface" command for modeling. The lighting environment chosen in KeyShot showcases the elegance and fluidity of the design.

The Castle
My design is inspired by historic Iranian adobe structures, with thick and plain walls conveying a sense of stability and power. It features Islamic crenellation and arch detailing, with an emphasis on the solid mass. The rendering was done in Rhino 4.
-
Gentleman Duck Paperweight
My design is focused on modelling the form and shape of the duck, and presenting him with the costume of a classical gentleman. The product is designed as a paperweight with its smooth form and decorative characteristics. Ambiance lighting, as opposed to harsh one, is used to showcase the decorative details.
