British Academy Television Craft Awards

Owen was approached by BAFTA to create over fifty handcrafted table centres and a large photobooth backdrop and props for the 2022 British Academy Television Craft Awards in London.
Inspired by this year’s award branding, Owen thought it would be interesting to devise a swirl form that could spiral upwards sitting on a thin central vase. We then added an array of bright and bold details, cut into and added onto the swirl, as well as a selection of additional coloured layers to really bring the piece to life. This was finished off perfectly by a selection of gorgeous bold and beautiful flowers, teaming up with the brilliant East London florists Rebel Rebel.
This was a mammoth task, especially knowing that the guests would be sat looking at the pieces for hours from all angle, but thanks to the help of a group of amazing assistants and some quite late shifts, we were really happy with the final results and it was lovely getting lots of nice feedback from the guests!
Alongside the table centres we also handcrafted a large backdrop design inspired by this year’s award branding, as well as a selection of paper props for guests to hold in the shots. It was wonderful to see everyone having so much fun in there, especially a range of BAFTA winners and award presenters, and a perfect way to celebrate a job well done!
