Hope for the Cities Brand Identity

Hope for the Cities, a non-profit based in Wylie, Texas, aims to help the most vulnerable in the community through food pantries, housing assistance, and job resources.
This client wanted simple, easy-to-read, and not overly modern typography. They wanted their icon to communicate both city and church as it is a religious organization based in metro areas across Texas.
The client wanted to stick to a black and white color-theme in order to keep things uncomplicated and timeless. While I appreciated the bold strength of black and the purity of white, I felt the very limited palette wouldn’t differentiate their brand well enough. Once I better understood the organization’s values and goals I convinced them to include a green accent as it communicates stability, generosity, and safety.
