"Do whatever you want with my music, just don't make it boring." - Freddie Mercury

On my 7th semester in college, I was given the assignment of making a video editing with Premiere Pro and After Effects. My first thought after receiving this task was "Let's go with product advertisement then," but then I saw almost all my classmates pitching the same idea and it really got me thinking hard like, "Man how do I try to leave a deep impression on my lecturer if I make the same thing like the rest?"

Mind you I don't think making something mainstream is wrong or bad, but this is an individual endeavor, no? Going far and beyond was something I felt is a must in this case. So I wanted to do something a tad bit different but still considering my own strength and interest. I'm a gamer and an anime/ cartoon enthusiast, so naturally I gravitate towards things related to these. Almost 4 years of playing around with still illustrations, and I did feel like this is the time and opportunity to finally broaden my field of skill. And that means growing from still illustrations to an animated one.

A single legendary line I mentioned above from the maestro, Freddie Mercury himself propelled me into making this. This AMV is my first ever project in frame-by-frame animation and I was so excited to see this through, though I was bombarded by a LOT of blind spots and obstacles (naturally). Took me 7 weeks from storyboarding, lining, coloring, layout, animating to approval and it truly paid off. I dipped my hands into animation, learned tons of new things from it and this project made it into the Top 5 in my class by getting an A!
