Kinetics - Personal Project

The Kinetics Collection has it start point in the sculptures and theories of Naum Gabo, an influential constructivism artist from Russia’s post revolution avant gard scene. His approach to sculpture was to break solid mass into interlocking planes, lines and geometric shapes. One of the main Gabo theories states that kinetic rhythms are the
essential form of our perception in real life. As a consequence the main ideia of Kinetics Collection is the mix of lightness, rhythm, dynamism and movement.
The absence of colour in the collection also comes from Naum Gabo’s realistic Manifesto in which he proclaims that ''we repudiate color as a pictorial element’', thus rather than focusing on colour the desire is in paying attention to the textures and shapes that the fabric produces on the body when it moves.
