Melo: A Social Music Platform


Summary:

Tejas Dodia and Isak Gomez were tasked to design a service around a specific industry of their choosing. Melo is a music streaming service that focuses on bringing a greater sense of interaction between friends, artists, and strangers. It would function as a social media app where music is the primary interest. We wanted to create a service that would connect people in a world where social anxiety and social disconnect became prevalent post-pandemic issues.

We created and expanded on Melo’s identity starting from extensive research to our final deliverables. Creating user personas, conducting qualitative research, and creating plans to map out the final product, we researched what worked and didn’t work with our competitors and improved upon our systems.a

The experiences primarily lives on mobile with a focus on mobile and tablet in our design system. Users can upgrade to get a packaging deal called "The Hub" including a tablet and specially designed speaker set in beautiful gatefold packaging. Melo's social media presence comes to life with our ad campaigns of collaborating and sponsoring artists, as well as promotional videos to draw in more users.

Melo is a music streaming service that focuses on bringing a greater sense of interaction  between everyone, whether it be a stranger, friend, or celebrity artist.
