Women's History Month - GIFs & Stickers

The month of March is celebrated as Women's History Month.
I took this opportunity to create some GIFs using open images featuring Indian women and Stickers inspired by Indian women artists.
Here is a quick round-up of my creations.
Melancholy Courtesan
India (Rajasthan, Bundi, or Kota), c. 1750
Ink, gold and opaque watercolor on paper; 32.7 x 27.3 cm
The lady savoring the drinks in melancholy of life.
Ladies in a Pavilion
India (Rajasthan, Marwar), c. 1640–50
Ink and opaque watercolor on paper; 24.8 x 20.3 cm
Gossiping Women.
Surprised at what they're hearing or simply hiding their mouth while coughing. :P

Two Girls Performing Kathak
India,18th century
Opaque watercolor and gold on paper; 14 × 10.7 cm

Dancing women - which can also be interpreted as siblings fighting. :P
The Morning Toilette
Northern India, Himachal Pradesh, Pahari Kingdom of Chamba
1810-25
Gum tempera and gold on paper; 26.5 x 18.6 cm
Women with the towel and mirror are loyal servants.
Whereas woman with the basket is utterly disinterested.
The one with the glass is sneaking away the drink. :P
The central character is flaunting/cherishing her looks. ;)
While, the mirror holding woman is directing her towards the cloth basket to get dressed.

Girls Spraying Each Other at Holi
Northwestern India, Rajasthan, Rajput Kingdom of Bikaner
c. 1640-50
Opaque watercolor, gold, and ink on paper; 19 x 12.5 cm

This was a next level GIF for me, pushing my boundaries further. B)
Animating so many characters was quite a task.
Satisfied with how it turned out, given the effort put in. :)
Each character is doing some or the other thing.
Just move around in the circle as you view it.
I found some faces of the women quite creepy during close up,
from the way they were painted.
But they seem to enjoy themselves.
That's what matters in the end I guess. ;)
Here is a musical version of this GIF.
A woman acrobat holding a long stick and walking the tight rope.
India, between 1800 and 1899
Watercolour with gouache and pencil; 12 x 14.3 cm
Street acrobats never fail to amaze me. This GIF is an ode to them. :)
Below are the sticker creations.
An iconic image of Nasreen Mohamedi turned into a sticker.
Nasreen Mohamedi was one of the pioneers of modern art from India.
The sticker showcases her iconic image in motion.
Abstract art of Nasreen Mohamedi
The line art of Nasreen Mohamedi instills a sense of peace and calm in one's mind.
Tried to recreate that affect in this sticker.
The dancing woman from a painting by Y. G. Srimati.
Y. G. Srimati was a dancer, musician and painter - a woman of many talents.
This sticker is a recreation of her painting.
Happy to have celebrated Indian women and women artists with my creations. :)
Thanks for watching!
