ART PROJECTS: De- violence-iation

De- violence-iation
This project was made during the quarantine in 2020 specially for the art contest "One day, after..." dedicated to pandemic. In September 2020 there was a final exhibition in The Kyiv History Museum & Exhibition Centre.
130x100 cm., paper, pencils, ballpoint pens.
One day, after the epidemic will be over, and time will passed away, we will look back and find that little has changed around. The world is still aggressive, and people are still cruel to each other. They still heroize violence, sing carols to it, glorify it and erect monuments to it. Then they analyze, scrutinize - looking down on this process from above, like saints - but continue to live in endless violence, perceiving it as something familiar.
Domestic violence, the outbreak of which occurred during the quarantine period in many countries of the world, just indicates that this problem is not being solved. And violence in the family gives impetus to the next round of violence. And so endlessly ...
And, perhaps, one day, after we realize this, our society will need a process of
"De- violence-iation".
What's inside this project?
What inspired me to create these forms?
Soviet modernism sculpture that contains mostly of very cruel masculine characters. And the name of the process in Ukraine one of the ideas of which - to raze all the communism monuments - "Decommunisation".
Exhibition:
STOP THE VIOLENCE!
