The project is the Labor Union Building in Old Cairo. The building is created from the theme of "Interrelations between positive and negative (Solid & Void)" which is appeared in the context. This building is built for the people who work in the manufacture of copper tools and also for teaching this craft as this craft is one of the most important crafts in Old Cairo. The project locates next to Wekalet Bazara'a as this area is between the residential buildings (near for people) having many views like Wekalet Bazara’a, Al-Aqmar Mosque.
Interrelations between positive and negative. It's a mixture of solid spaces (positive) and void spaces (negative) in one shape. This theme comes from the architectural elements of the landmarks of Old Cairo like voids in Mashrabya, Crenelation in the upper part of the mosque, Muqarnas in the elevation, at Qibla Wall (the wall is subtracted by arch shape) and so on.
